Life Philosophy

Live life in the direction
it takes you...

I am a firm believer in this statement. Life is way too short to be concerned with what other people think you should be doing, or the norms society dictates. I try to get as much enjoyment out of life as possible, because you never know what the future may hold. Life is too short for "what ifs".

Music I Listen To

I AM A MUSIC LOVER!

My musical taste is pretty varied: Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, Rhythm & Blues, Indie Rock, Classical, Jazz, Reggae, Punk, Funk, New Wave, and even (gasp) some Heavy Metal and Disco! I love going to concerts - there is nothing like the feeling of euphoria I get when I'm at a good live show.

Of course the Rolling Stones have been my favorite band for a long time. My other top favorite band is Genesis, a strange combo I know, but it works for me. I am actually a moderator on the official Genesis website, http://www.genesis-music.com, should there be any other fans here that would like to check it out. My name there is JaneCool, and I have many thousands of fascinating posts there. image

Other bands/musicians I really enjoy listening to are Yes, Neil Young, Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Beatles, David Bowie, The Moody Blues, Led Zeppelin, Elliott Smith, Bob Marley, Rush, Grateful Dead, King Crimson, Beck, Van Halen, The Police, The Eagles, Black Sabbath, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., Tom Petty, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, The White Stripes, Dave Matthews Band, the list goes on and on so I better stop there.

I am constantly checking out new music, because although I am certainly partial to the old classics and classic rock/prog bands, I think it's important to keep an open mind and support newer up and coming acts so that rock and roll retains its importance in the realm of popular music for many years to come.

Some newer bands I have been really getting into lately are My Morning Jacket, Band Of Horses, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and The Decemberists, just to name a few.

Music is so much a part of my life, I'd truly be lost without it.

We all need someone we can lean on

Hey sister, there's no shame in liking Heavy Metal. I'm a headbanger too. image

Hehe, yeah we're lucky we like all different kinds of music!
It's a big musical world out there - why limit yourself to one band or type of music?!! image
